Excellent, Rhody. - I've been to an exhibition of Chihuly's work many years ago at the V&A museum in London.

Natural light has been inadequate until today. Saw sun, picked up camera . . .

Colored decorative windows are fairly common in old houses here. We have one, a small window near the front door, with subtle colors. I took these shots from inside. It was impossible to expose for the glass and the surroundings, so I went twice.

Let's go to the kitchen!

Juicer from the 1930s. Lighting was difficult there, too. First I put the thing in direct window light, but it's wider than any one patch of light, and the picture came out looking dramatic or maybe just weird.

A little searching revealed that this is an example of Depression glass (external link) and has become a collectible.

Really? The glass in that one is all blown out, but thanks!

That's a classy front door you have.

A great week. I enjoyed the pics very much. I had plans to take down a glass mobile and focus stack and what not, but I was down with the flu all week (still recovering), so this afternoon I just climbed on a ladder and photographed the thing in situ.

I picked this up years ago, not even sure where or why, but it's been in my bedroom forever.

Thanks, scriveyn. I can proudly state that Chihuly is a RISD alumnus. And not only did he study here in Providence but also founded the Glass Department at RISD and taught here for many years. Some (All?) of his artwork is simply stunning. Glad you got to see some of it.
