I'm looking for something small, maybe the size of Domke F5 or Think Tank Retrospective 7 that can hold X100F an X-T1 AND fit an iPad. I'm just hot having any luck. Any suggestions.

???? Well if you’re looking for something about the size of a retrospective 7 then how about the retrospective 7? It’s the size you want, will fit the cameras you listed and will fit an iPad.

And there’s a smaller version available that also fits at (7”) tablet.

Well made. Comes with a rain cover.

Thanks. That looks about what I've been looking for. I don't like the feel of the retrospectives. I'm currently using one of the small Domke bags, but that doesn't have room for the tablet.

Have you looked into the Peak Design everyday sling 10L?

It fits my x100T and XT2+2-3 lens with a slot for 10" tablet.

B&H Deal of the Day (4/11 only) is the Think Tank Photo Lily Deanne Lucido Premium-Quality Camera Bag; normally $200, now $70. Licorice or chestnut color. The details says it has an interior compartment for an 8 inch tablet.

lol, what a concept :-P

the Retro 7 is a medium sized bag and it can fit a ton of stuff. I can fit two mirrorless bodies along with lenses should I choose to. Ipad can got in the front or rear pockets. Can probably even fit a macbook 12 in the rear in the case you need something a touch bigger.

Sling ideas:

small size, for an iPad mini and small lenses: https://www.thinktankphoto.com …e/products/turnstyle-5-v2 (external link)

bigger: https://www.mindshiftgear.com/products/photocross-10 (external link)

Between those: https://mountainsmith.com/2018-descent-small.html (external link)

I have the larger descent and I think it would be too large for what you described, but it is very well made. It is easy to open, and very well padded (maybe a bit stiff if anything).

Lowepro Messenger perhaps? Perfect size to tuck iPad 10.5 between the liner and outer or rather snugly in the rear pocket.

I have a Tamrac Apache 6 that holds all that and more. There are smaller Apaches. This bag is really well built. It's older and there may be bargains... I had a Retro 10. I found it heavy, and hated the rain cover. The Apache has excellent features like Thinktank

I use a ThinkTank Turnstyle 20 as an everydaycarry bag. I've had two, and may buy the second version. It's a sling. camera access is simple and very good.

I got a Tenba BYOB 10 and put that in a Filson Medium Field bag, but you can get one the several sizes of the BYOB and put it in any bag you want.
I also put an insert inside of a 12 year old Mounstainsmith daypack that I have.
There are plenty of inexpensive messenger style bags and backpacks on Amazon that can be turned into a camera bag with an insert.

Thanks, everyone.

I have a sneaky suspicion that I'm not going to end up with one perfect bag. ( I know the holy grail of photographers). I found the ThinkTank a bit too "boxy" for its size, and I decided I wanted something that I could zip shut when I wanted. I've found a couple of different inserts and am going to try them with some smaller messenger bags I already have. The Domke is ok for just the X100F with an Instax SP-3, an external battery pack, and a backup hard drive. But when I add the X-T2 I think I want a bit more room.

I'm also reassessing the need for the iPad. I can do most of what I'm doing on the iPhone. I'm not doing anything with the raw files, just the jpeg.

I've been a bagaholic since I had my photo business years ago. The iPad rendered many of my bags useless. Although I still have my dslr, I've also got smaller cameras I carry every day. Sony a6000. Sony RX100-2 with electronic viewfinder attached.

These two bags really work well for me. Both carry my ipad and those two cameras.
ThinkTank Turnstyle 20
Tamrac Apache 6

The Tamrac is amazing. Colour makes it hide. Doesn't look like a photo bag. There's no zipper on top, just a flap like the Retro series. It has silencers on the velcro like the Retrobags. I like the strap and pad. Bag comes with a rain cover too. I paid too much for mine, because I bought from Henry's in Canada. They offered it cheaper later. I didn't like my Retro 10 and sold it. I've considered a Retro 5, but it costs too much here, and won't carry my ipad.

The Turnstyle 20 is my everydaycarry sling. Be wary of the strap that attaches at the base of the sling. I have a safety strap on mine. My first turnstyle strap broke there. Think Tank customer service is incredible. They sent me a replacement. The Tstyle can carry two ipads! I'm on the verge of buying a Turnstyle 20 version 2. The strap is better and attached more strongly. The price in Canada is over $170 + 13% tax. I think bringing one home will be grounds for divorce. (i have 4 sling bags, including 2 Turnstyle 20's; one with bad strap)

I believe there are 3 versions--turnstyle 5, 10, and 20 I have the largest one.

I broke my left shoulder 1-1/2 years ago. The Turnstyle 20 works well for me. I can take my camera out very quickly and get the shot. Years ago I would have had my camera out to work all the time.

I prefer shooter's bags, rather than storage bags.

If you decide not to carry your ipad, consider a Billingham Hadley Digital. I bought mine after I traded my Retro 10 away.

It carries those two cameras well, and has always been dry inside. Camera access is better than either of my two Domke. F3x and F2

(Don't tell Jon I said that!)

I keep taking out my TT Urban Disguise 40 and trying to use it. It will carry an ipad too. However, I am concerned about the zipper on top leaking in the rain. Yes, there's a rain cover. It sucks. It's hard to put on and take off.

When I was shooting with Fuji I had the Think Tank Mirrorless Mover 30i - it's great and just the right size for what you are wanting.
