LOL. That guy ticked off because everyone laughed. A flip pad for the cash. Wow $25. Lot of money back then. We can't even go to a movie for that.

The $64000 Question was a ton of prize money, when one considered the median annual income was $5000 in 1955. $64k could get you almost 21000 gallons of gasoline. That is like getting $838000 based upon the price of a gallon of gas in CA now.

$25 for a movie?! Even here in Silicon Valley you can find an Adult seat for a digital cinema showing of First Man for $12 this afternoon, and $13.70 this evening. I hope you can be kissed while being screwed!

I remember the opening bars of Bonanza's theme music (it was instrumental, not a song). It's one of the very few I can play in my head.

If POTN had a bar, where we could gather face to face, my biggest parlor trick would be that I remember EVERY T.V. theme and commercial jingle.
Even the tricky ones, like "Mod Squad" !

dun dun dun, dun dun dun,,
dada duh, dada duh, dada duh dada duh, daah daah dada duh daaaah,
dun dun dun, dun dun dun,

... and I remembered it when there wasn't an internet to help :) But feel free to cheat if you have to.

If you can spare 10 minutes, a hilarious segment of What's My Line? (external link) from 1953.

I do remember watching that show when I was a youngster, BUT I do not remember watching that particular episode.

I don't remember watching that episode for 2 reasons.

My parents did not get a TV until around 1955, and in 1953 I would have been 3 years old!!!

I think 1955 was the year my parents got a TV, too. It must have been. The first time we watched a party convention to choose a presidential candidate, I wondered why we hadn't seen the same thing the year before.

I remember always being told, that when my Dad brought home our first television, I said very happily

"Daddy bought a TB! Daddy bought a TB!!" ;-)a :-P

Remember the scene from Back To The Future when the family was sitting around the dinner table watching the Honeymooners on their new TV.

Milton: "What do you mean you've seen this? It's brand new."
Marty: "Well, I saw it on a rerun..."
Milton: "What's a rerun?"
Marty: "You'll find out."

I shut the water off in the shower this morning and stood there wondering if I had shampooed my hair, which would be the last thing I do before I shut the water off. I still have no idea if I did. -?

Wow. I thought not always remembering whether I washed my hair yesterday was bad enough.

The answer to all such lapses is mindfulness. Did I lock the door and all that. Be more aware of what you're doing while you do it. It's easy to glide unthinkingly through a routine because other things are on your mind. Also make a mental note if you put something down where it doesn't usually go. "My keys are in the hall because the phone rang when I came in . . ."

Same thing happens to me. It's rare, usually when I'm tired.

When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.
When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.
