I was looking for turkeys to photograph when I noticed what at first looked like a large burl. I thought that the burl was awfully large for the snag it was on, so I backed up and saw it was a barred owl. I was lucky to get a few photos before it took off. My shutter speed was slow, but I was able to improve the shot using camera shake reduction in photoshop.
