Last night I picked up the first batch of Sony A7iii that hit my local area.

Having adapted Canon glass on the A7iii is't really ideal but it still performs incredibly well for it's intended use. The A7iii with adapted Canon 24Lmk2 actually feels noticeably faster than the X-t2 with 16mm native f/1.4 prime.

The size of the non gripped A7iii body with canon glass is still slightly heavier than my X-t2 gripped battery booster with 16mm.

I know Kaizen firmware update is coming for the Fuji bodies and I sure hope they've dramatically improved the AF eye focus. For the folks that have never used Sony's "eye focus" I'll have to say it's strange that it's so fast and accurate. Just in the short duration of time using it I feel it's a major asset for any camera company to add in features.

I can navigate the Fuji body blind folded. Navigating Fuji menu's is due to familiarity. Now that I've customized all of my camera bodies with the favourites tab/screen or customized buttons I don't feel any difference shooting either company manufacturer.

I'll try this fuji/sony combo and see how the combo works out.

I have a spider holster plate on the bottom of the sony so not chipping issue for me. I also used GT 5000 tape as a barrier to protect the Sony body.

Sony is Not perfect with adapted canon glass. I must go native gla$$ to maximize performance.

Today I used the Sony with canon 16-35 and combo with my Fuji and 50-140. I struggled with both. I must get Sony glass to be fully happy with the A7iii. The 50-140 is such a sharp lens but honestly I miss that slightly more blurry/buttery bokeh from my canon 70-200 f2.8IS mk2.
Fuji as usual is easy in outputting killer files all because of their colour signature.

So far speed wise canon with native canon glass gives me 100% confidence. Outdoors Fuji AF is excellent! Static subjects in low light the A7iii with adapted glass really feels faster than Fuji. However Af-s using Sony with Canon glass is not good enough for me for anything serious in nature for critical events with faster movement but portraits it’s very good.

Rollercoaster of analyzing pros/cons in my application.

When I find a moment I’ll post some car pictures ..... sorry no cats :)

In all honesty I cannot judge Sony as I’m using non native glass.

Yesterday I was watching some youtube and the person was saying he returning his Sigma 135mm f1.8 as it didn't work as good as he had hoped using the Sigma adapter. No eye (main reason to go Sony IMHO) and even without eye AF, still issues. To me Sony best would be to Sony lenses unless you shoot landscapes etc.
