But keep in mind, if you don't need the smaller size or portability purpose, 2.5" drive is much less reliable than their 3.5" counter part. So 2.5" drives are a good idea for backup purpose. If someone is really paranoid about backup drive fail, spend a bit more on enterprise grade drive. At its best, they aren't necessary better than consumer grade drive, but they are more consistant in their manufacturing process (tighter binning), so having one fail prematurely is a less likely event.
