Here is an interesting little script that I ran across which may prove useful to some. It was written back in the days when LR had more memory leak and associated slowdown problems and a reset reduced the amount of used RAM, but still works fine (tested in LR Classic 7.3, Windows 10) and might be handy in other circumstances.

Photo editing tip in general.....get a Wacom tablet and learn to use it instead of a mouse or trackpad. It can also replace a mouse and trackpad for other apps .

And if you can't afford a Wacom tablet then go get one of the cheap generic Chinese ones off your favorite online shopping platform, they all have them. I've been using ones made by Trust since about 1995 or so, and I'm only on my third one. Yes the button/active areas don't always work as well as a Wacom but the pen functionality, which is what is important does. My current Trust tablet is now approaching end of life, it has trouble connecting at boot, and the Win 7 drivers are unstable on Win 10, so you lose your settings every time Win 10 updates. I guess I'll get a cheap one from Amazon this time.
