Picked up this lens after having owned the Sony Distagon previously. I was never happy with it, given its copy variations and the high price.
I must say, I am pleasantly surprised with Samyang's performance so far. Excellent value for the money (I bought it when the Samyang version had a $250 instant rebate).

I'll start by sharing a few images. If you have the lens, please share yours.

Both at f1.4 -

Great pics! I'm thinking of picking one of these up and really glad I could see some good sample pics beforehand - especially from someone who also already had the Sony lens.

So I have a quick question. I was debating between this and the Zeiss 35mm f/1.4.. I’d much rather purchase the Rokinon due to price, but I shoot a lot of low-light things and gear it has real poor low-light AF? How do you find it’s preformance?

I have the Rokinon 35/2.8, mainly bought it because I got it for a good discount and use it for travel. But I’d love a35/ 1.4

I generally don’t have issues with it in low light. Not in my home or low lit churches. It’s not a super quick lens like some of the native lenses, and I suspect the speed to be similar to the 2.8 version

Thanks a lot! I don’t mind the speed of my 35 f2.8. You can’t beat these lenses for the price.

Agree with Charlie. No focusing issues in low light. This lens really is a sleeper.
