The one we saw was very brave walking right beside the lake and several quick looking gators. Archibald, CBB has become my favorite venue in all of Florida. Poof hates to sit in one spot. At CBB we walked almost 30 miles over 4 days and that pleased her and kept both of us constantly looking for targets of opportunity. Next time we head down we will spent 5 full days there! We also met Alan Jackman from Flickr and he shot along side of us several times. He uses a folding bike to get around. I took a bike and used it one morning but found I would go too fast and miss things. I heard from the locals that in July it is a ghost town for people due to the heat but that many more animals can be seen just because of less people. Has us thinking about a sauna trip ![]() Makes sense. The mornings should be OK - let us know how it is if you go. Canon R5 and R7, assorted Canon lenses, Sony RX100, Pentax Spotmatic F

Candor Goldmember More info | Apr 24, 2018 17:56 | #9 Love that place. Looks likes he's calmed down since the last time I was there! IMAGE LINK: https://www.mikeswildlife.com/Animals/Wildlife/i-vfnvcvK/AJust kidding, this guy was eating some kind of nut he found rummaging in the canal and I just caught him at the right time chomping on it which made him look pretty mean.

He wouldn't turn and look my way of course so all I got was a couple butt shots. It and Merrit Island are my favorites when I drive down. Ron

I have been there spring, summer, and fall, spring and fall are the best times in my opinion. The birds and animals aren't bothered by the people like up north. Early summer the new birds are foraging it seems. Ron
