Looking for some input on those that have been to Sedona. My wife and I go on Saturday to scout and Sunday to go back and shoot based on light.

I will have everything from a 16mm to 600mm and my 5d3 and 7d2.

I want to get off the normal roads, thinking about renting a razor to do so.

Any specific roads I should(n't) travel would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Shaun

I really like the area just north of the Village of Oak Creek including the Bell Rock Loop Trail, Little Horse Trail to Chicken Point and the Hiline and Baldwin trails around Cathedral Rock. These are hiking and biking trails. Not really off the beaten path, but there is gorgeous scenery every step of the way.

Glass half full...

So what did you end up with? I'm going there in a couple of weeks. I picked up a 14mm f/2.8 and a travel tripod, and along with the daytime (sunrise/sunset) shots, I'm going to try my hand at some night sky images. I just don't want to have to wander too far to do it, especially at night.

My wife and I rented a razor for a day and took all kinds of little trails. I am out of town for work and can't process photos but I took 15 different views plus some misc shots. All we're bracketed shots at either 24mm or 35mm with 15* swings. This will allow me many choices in post prossesing.

HDR panos
Normal panos
HDR narrower FOV
Normal narrower FOV

Also visited the cactus garden in the Phoenix area with some shots there.

In total I think I have 1500+ images. I was breaking them in to folders for proccess before I left. I will be sure to post some once I get processing.

We’ll be heading there in September. Looking forward to seeing your shots!
