Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is Things That Start with the Letter "G". As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Pretty simple, show us things that start with the Letter "G"!

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Monday Sunset and the following Monday by Sunset (Whenever that is for you ). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

This is how I spent the day yesterday... The removal of the utility pole in my backyard and it's Giant replacement by the Giant cranes in the Green Grass and Green Trees :p
I pushing the topic a bit, but I hope you enjoy the journey!

It started around 6:45am with the tempeture at 70° (Of course all electrical power was turned off and it will be 101° by 1pm)
This is the set up. That is the new utility pole across my driveway..

Getting ready to take away the top half of the pole..

Here comes the Gigantic new pole it is larger in diameter and much taller ..

Having a bit of trouble getting it in and getting it to fit the pre-dug hole

... And, after only 9 hours, with no A/C and 101° the new pole.. Now we've just got to wire it up and stabilize it -?

They are now on the next street below us.. Thankfully for them the temperatures are dropping a few degrees LOL!

Tim..

It's old?
They are redoing the entire neighborhood.
They were most likely installed in 1960 or earlier.
Things don't last long out here ... .. .

Our wire from the pole to the top of the house caught fire last year on New Year's Eve,
good thing it was raining :-|

3 months ago they changed out the crossbar *shrug* Even I knew SC-E was going to pull all the poles shortly.
The question is... why not in winter when it is cooler?

That's quite a procedure there, Jo. Were you at all worried about your roof?!

So, I saw this and I'm calling it Going round and round... I know, it's a bit of a stretch. :-P

The only reason this one looks so good is that it had a big disposal bin
full of stuff taken out of it. We are getting my father in laws property
ready for sale.
4 weeks ago this was picked with junk.

Nice shots Joayne. Too bad that they don't plan better and
do these things when it is cooler.
That is a very nice shot Levina.

Nice one Levina! Lots of motion and color and I like the bluuuurrrrrrrr!

Well, yes, I was worried about everything!
Had to put my tortoises in boxes so they wouldn't get stepped on.
We found a nest of 4 birdies that are now way more exposed because the crew tore out a lot of the landscaping.
There are nuts, bolts and bits all over the yard.

I will say that the crew was friendly and sympathetic and tried their best, but....
