Please excuse my question if discussion of camcorders is off topic of this board. I would appreciate help from anyone who uses a Cannon ZR25 mini dv camcorder. When I add audio dubbing over a prerecorded tape, how do I get the sound mix to transfer to a VHS cassettes when I edit the tape onto a VHS cassettes from my VCR?

After I dub audio to recorded tape, the only way I can listen to the mix is by using the remote control audio monitor. I have the output channel set to L/R and it plays back with only the original Stereo 1 recorded audio. I also tried setting it to L/L and R/R, but it makes no difference.

I can only hear the audio mix Stereo 1 and Stereo 2 when I play back the tape and turn on the audio monitor and mix balance. Can anyone help me?

Thank you!

You might find the information you are seeking in the following pages of your ZR25 manual:

"Setting the Audio Mix" on page 89

"If Your TV (or VCR) has audio/video input terminals" on page 33.

The key here is to make sure that you have the audio mix set to "MIX/FIXED" or "MIXED/VARL" and having the audio go to AV instead of PHONE.

Thank you, Pac Ace! I think you solved my problem. I just ran a few minutes on a tape I had audio dubbed and it played back the way I wanted with the MIX/VAR set. I assume this means I should use this setting when I record it to a VHS cassette. I really appreciate your help!
