It always surprises me of how little the general world know about Embraer aircraft.

That's a nice looking kite!

Most airline passengers can't tell an ERJ from a CRJ.
Just a "little jet".

That's easy 8-)

It's E for Brasil and C for Bombardier.

We flew into Venice in a CRJ700 a few years back and it was the most comfortable aircraft I have flown in since I flew from Lyneham to Bahrain in a Comet2 in the early 60s. The VC10 was nearly as nice but the seats were smaller. The Comet has to be the best though.

Wow. That's pretty awesome. Didn't know they come apart like that.

What's the gestation period for something that large :-P

What a unique shot. Love the golden glow of the contrail. I guess the early bird really does get the shot! Thanks for sharing.

Was out practicing my BIF skills on the local pigeons when this big bird went overheard approx 7200ft, EY975 (B789) on its way to Ho Chi Minh city.

I have only ever worked on one Phantom and that was for a short time. It was on route to one of the USAF/R.A.F. bases across to the east of R.A.F. Brize Norton on a Sunday afternoon when I was on shift on the first line. It did an emergency landing with us. The problem was it was blowing 12 stage compressor air, VERY hot, into the boundary layer air system on the wings and had failed to switch of. It was in danger of doing enough damage to the wing to make it fail. There was no work for me so I wandered over to ask what was happening?

It was a simple problem of a failed circuit breaker and I filched one from our aircraft stores. When the USAF blokes arrived all they had to do was fit the breaker. Afterwards they asked when I'd been trained of the Phantom? And what electrician I was, lighting, power, engine electrics and were very surprised when I just said yes to all and that it was the first time I'd been anywhere near a Phantom. At the time I was working on Vickers VC10 and Shorts Belfasts, end to end and side to side. Totally normal for the R.A.F.

I found the Phantom easy to understand and got a large thank you from the parent station's boss man. It's a very special job working on aircraft and everything is either 100% right or 100% wrong in 'normal' life.
