Is there a storey to this?
Interesting!
An excellent excuse for no overhead wires.:-P

this is Schiphol airport near Amsterdam. The airport has grown in the years and needed space. The airport has been built in an area were more than 100 years ago a lake was. They pumped the water away and built cities and the airport. The airport had to expand so the highway and the train goes through a tunnel. later on they built new runways and connected these with the airport with viaducts. There are now several viaducts used by the airplanes. The road on the picture is not very big and there is not much traffic. But there are highways with viaducts were the airplanes run over. You sit in your car and you see an airplane in front of you going over the viaduct. A very nice view, but when you drives 100 km you must pay attention to the traffic. Very hard to do. There were spotting places were you could watch the planes starting or landing. But by the expansion of the airport and the industry around the airport they closed these places. So it is very difficult to make desent pictures.

Wow! It didn’t look like that when I was last there in 1988! In fact you couldn’t even fly there direct from the UK then I had to go via either Denver, Dallas or Los Angeles.

I had a student who wanted to fly into Schiphol so we flew there in a Piper Arrow mixing it with the big boys. The landing fee was €250!

He was too chicken Jack

I'm curious? The road both sides dips and dives under the taxiway, but the canal doesn't? -?

I have flown in to Shiphol in 2004 when I was collecting out new left hand drive car before moving to France and I don't remember seeing anything like that, but it's a big place!

I'm wondering how the water will follow the dip in the canal I'm picturing with that sentence :-)
