Not sure what meaning it gets applied to over yonder) We call the aeroplane Gopher as in ‘go for that and go for this’! It already had the registration when it came to us so not sure who, if anyone, picked that registration. Mark

Image hosted by forum (1133875) © Jonzjob [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff. And a little bit of info as to why the Britannia was the first production 'fly by wire' aircraft. They had the Ultra Throttle system for computer controlled throttles on the Bristol Proteus engines Image hosted by forum (1133876) © Jonzjob [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff. The driver still had his throttle levers, but if there was a failure, very rare, then he had a little centre sprung switch for each engine and could wind the throttles up/down from there. He he wanted all 4 up or down at the same time using the little switches then the co driver had to operate 3 and 4 as he was probably moving the control column and 1 hand couldn't reach all 4 switches. The Ultra system was left to us poor hardworking electricians to look after ![]() My ambition for a good while is to grow old disgracefully. So far my wife tells me that I am doing really well!
