Consider cropping out the lamp on the right side. To my eye it draws too much attention. I like the light it provides and it balances the light on the left side. So maybe crop just to the edge of the lampshade. Since the subject's hands are cut off at the bottom, why not get rid of the arms altogether?

You need a rim light to separate these guys from background.

I just don't go for that extra separation, if it is not required.

Consider cropping out the lamp on the right side. To my eye it draws too much attention.

The very first thing that my eye goes to when I look at the image is the vertically mirrored shadow pattern created by the lamp. . It is the strongest geometric element in the frame. . This is fine if the lamp is the main subject of the photo, but if your main subject was supposed to be the trio of humans, then the lamp "steals the show".

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Hi guys, Im new to the forum. I had plenty of free time the past days and one day that i had nothing to do i decided to make some shots. So the first idea was smoke in a glass.I didn't was happy with the results so i added water to the glass, blowed some smoke in it via straw, and came up with a pleasing result. after editing it i came up with a very minimal shot, but i don't know if i like it. i would like to get some critique on how you like the photo or even stuff i could have done different.

Thank you in advance

You are more likely to get some response if you start your own thread by creating a new post rather than to tag it on the end of someone elses.

That said, I'm not sure about your pictures, I can see what you are trying to achieve but you have ended up with what looks like a raw egg shot in monochrome. I think it needs a bit more experimentation.

Thanks for your Reply man, and appreciate your opinion about the photo. thanks for the thread tip as well. so ill show you another picture a lil bit earlier in the editing process, perhaps i lost the point when tried to make the shot more minimalistic cutting down bubbles and reflections, so what do you think of this shot?

OP... I would prefer the faces to be a tad warmer to blend a bit better with the room lighting. A scant more soft light from the right would had been nice as well. Could crop some of the dead space from the right as well. I like the mood of the scene as well as the scene. The shadow the lamp gives off almost looks like the Bat symbol.
