Adjustable ND filters

Do these screwon filters give good results or should one get a Lee or other brand filter holder and filters?

Singh-Ray makes a 10 stop variable ND filter with a polarizer called "Vario-Duo". They also make a 10 stop variable ND filter with a polarizer and a warming filter called "Vario-Trio". IMO, they are excellent filters.

The biggest concern when using any filter, is if it adds a color cast to the image. Many do, and are not always fixable by adjusting the white balance, and/or hue. The Singh-Rays' don't add any color cast.

I have an adjustable ND. Doesn't seem to add a magenta cast. Think most will be ok, but check the reviews. Cheapo ones reduce IQ a little, mine does but it's not too bad. Enjoy one. They're worth it.
