Hi,
i am visiting Canada (Vancouver) in July and want to buy a Canon 24-70 2.8 II since it should be quite a lot cheaper than in Europe.

I found this place:
https://bccamera.com …-ef-24-70mm-f2-8l-ii-usm/ (external link)

The price is 2049, but is that Canadian or US dollars?

Where do you recommend to buy this lens in Vancouver? Please recommend a trustworthy place with a good price level.

Thanks in advance!
Martin

I've purchased from Broadway before without issue but my experience is limited to a few purchases. They are an authorized dealer. Prices are CAD.

In North America, all Canon prices must be advertised at the manufacturer's suggested pricing. This does not mean that stores cannot discount the lenses, but they cannot advertise discounting it. To answer your question - that price is in Canadian Dollars.

I purchase all of my new gear from Photo Expert in Delta, BC. They are often able to give me a discount for asking and are good to work with and trustworthy. http://photoexpert.com/ (external link)

Broadway Camera and Kerrisdale Cameras are also reputable and high quality camera stores - you can buy from them with trust. They are larger and more corporate so they may be less likely to discount from the posted price - but no harm in asking.

Hope that helps,
Mark
