Is there anybody here who is using Sigma Art lenses on a Sony a7r III as native lens without adapter?

Is focusing fast and accurate? How about low light? All focusing modes (eye tracking, etc.) work on the Sony?

Thanks!

I have the Sigma 35mm Art and a Sigma MC-11 adapter on a Sony A7r III. I have been very happy with the results I have
gotten thus far. I have not shot much in stressful lighting conditions. Eye auto-focus works, but not as good
as with a native lens. (I have the Sony FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA) I also have the Sigma 85 and 135mm art lenses. I have not had
the camera long enough to delve into situations where lighting causes problems, but in general I am very happy with the combinations.

Hope this helps,

Are they available yet? Last time I checked, all of the Art lenses in E mount were still pre-order only! I have the MC-11 adapter and used the 85 and 50 on it and it worked well, but I feel the E mount line will be better! I'm itching to try the 135 Art once its released

As far as I know that's not yet available. Art 35mm 1.4 + MC-11 on 3rd gen body is a vast improvement over the older gen. However you still cannot compete with native lenses or Canon setup.
We all lokk forward to see how the native sigmas E mount perform.

the MC-11 + 135A is basically native, hard to differentiate. I shoot in moderately low light without issue.

it's real good, and I may even postpone full native until I can see comparison videos. It's good enough for what I shoot, dance in low lit halls (ISO 6400, f1.8, 1/125). I'm hoping the native has a quieter motor, and possibly better tracking, but other than that, works well.

Yep the adapted Sigma 135 might as well be a native lens. I was going to have the mount on mine converted, but TBH, I don't see the need to.

I imagine that the Sigma 35 performs similarly well.

Sigma claims the native Sony mount lenses will AF better than the adapted lenses as there will not be any Canon -> Sony protocol conversion that takes place in the adapter. This only makes sense. Where this will be noticeable is anyone's guess, but most likely in challenging AF conditions or possibly better Eye-AF tracking.

i used the 135 art with an mc-11/a9, and the exif info indicated 13-14fps, with continuous af/ae... i was shooting action sports(beach soccer), and it had accurate af.

the other sony milc bodies will be limited by the mechanical shutter rates, but the fact that you can get 13-14fps now, with the electronic shutter, bodes well for future sony bodies, that will eventually have global shutters and better fps capabilities.

Now that the native mount Sigma's are out. Has anyone have any experience that they can share with us? I am very close to pulling the trigger on the 35mm and just want to hear from someone in the know.
