Extension head with camera foot mount for Godox AD200

Cable is attached to the remote socket from side. The side that goes in AD-B2 to the center so that it might be problem to insert second one.

I wonder how much extension reduces power. On my AD600+H600B, I measure around 0.3-0.4 EV reduction compared to AD600 alone in same softbox.

H1200B equivalent might be more interesting approach - bowens part of AD-B2 at the top of stand, a cable to a box at bottom with two sockets (socket part of AD-B2) for inserting one or two AD200.

My thought as well, bonus if they can use existing bulbs for that (but also not complaining if it's a 400Ws version of the AD600 Pro's bulb) and put in a powerful enough LED modeling light. That and a proper LED panel head (say a modified LED500 or LED1000) for the battery pack. Throw in an AC adapter for completeness, and I think that would finish off the wishlist for an AD200 from AD600 expectations and the interchangeable head.

But very happy to see they've started to trick out the AD200 the way they do the AD600.

I usually use a speedlight with a battery pack. I can put this remote head on a flash bracket, attach the body to me somewhere, and then I'm done with speedlights...forever.

Looks like it should. It uses the same mount that swaps between the Fresnel and the bare bulb attachments.

This does offer some interesting options for camera mounted flash in a lighting scheme.

I have used an AD200 with a Better Beamer for wildlife, and it is truly cumbersome. (but dead nuts powerful!)

With the extension cord, the AD200 could be gaffed/velcroed to a tripod leg, and only the bulb and Beamer up on the flash bracket. Sweet.

Yup. But now that the AD200 could be an on-camera flash, I suddenly want it to be able to act as a Master. Guess that's not in the firmware firmament...

More than firmware, they would have to add all the hardware necessary for it to interface with the camera for sync signal and TTL communications. That means new insides, plus a redesigned remote head.

I totally called this out a year ago or whatever it was.

Actually I specifically said they should do a dual/triple/quad bracket and give us the option for 400/600 or 800ws remote heads.

Everyone flamed me. But this gets us closer

boom.. there ya go. not a year ago but back in august.

To bring it back up... a 4 unit holster/800ws remote head would allow a ton of options for the same flash unit.

These remote heads offer lots of options for getting a reasonably powerful flash tube into some interesting locations that would be impossible otherwise.
