I have a spot where I wired a branch onto an iron railing where Belted Kingfihers like to fish at low tide. Thankfully they prefer to land on the branch rather than the railing, usually, though there is one bird that launches from the branch, then lands on the iron railing once he has caught a fish. Only once in 3 years has someone torn down my branch.
