Follow a thread (click follow thread on top right of thread), and notification for that thread are on.

If thread is already followed, cllick the followed thread text for notification settings for that thread.

In FYEO -> notification emails https://photography-on-the.net …?show=notificat​ion_emails you have settings.

Did a couple of things:

1. Set default "minumum inactivity delta" to 1 day (previously 6 hours).

That setting is found in https://photography-on-the.net …?show=notificat​ion_emails
One day makes more sense, and you can always change it to whatever you need if you are impatient

Note to Roadrunner (Time Warner Cable / Spectrum) email users:
if you use Roadrunner email, be aware that they have lots of servers down, and we can not send notifications to them. They simply reject all mails and servers are not responding. I strongly suggest that you change all rr.com and other roadrunner derived email addresses to some other service provider.


2. I have set up a full site bookmark icon set

The iconic POTN image https://photography-on-the.net …1056044&mg=3&i=​i197072116 (slightly altered version) is the new site bookmark icon (favicon).

What this means, is that when you from now on bookmark, add to home screen (in iOS or android), add to Start menu tile (in Edge) - you'll see that image as POTN site icon. There are lots of versions of it for different resolutions (also retina) and operating systems. so the quality will be much better now. The old one, the blue "camera", was really from 1980's and this new one actually catches the eye a lot better on browser tabs (tested this with other people, too).


3. POTN can now be browsed securely with https://

You should update your daily bookmarks for https, and use it especially on mobile devices. I will add a "forced transparent redirect to https" in perhaps a couple of weeks time.

And that image is iconic indeed, Pekka! It never fails to make me laugh. Still brilliant.
What's also brilliant is that my POTN bookmark is now indeed showing the new favicon! I'm happy again.

I have the bad luck to have to go through them for internet just now. They have been up and down (mostly down) the past several days. It's not just e-mail, I can't get anything through them

I'll be changing service providers real soon now, for sure.
