I know I'm behind the game but I need it for work and am trying to find it in stock from a reputable seller. Anyone know of anywhere I can find one or if Greentoe would be able to get one ASAP?

Thanks!

I would get ahold of a authorized dealer list and start calling around. When I looking for my D850 I found it in Texas. They're out there just need to do some searching for one.

I've owned the A7 and A7 II for about a year then ended up sold them (AF is not as fast as alot of people have claimed). I heard alot of good thing about this new A7 III, but for some reason I lost my interested in Sony.

For the price especially, yes it’s pretty darn good. Native E-mount glass is expensive though, so don’t get too hung up on the body only price.

It’s $2k at launch, so it pretty much dominates everything in its price range. 24MP FF, excellent IQ, among the best ISO performance of any FF camera regardless of price, 10fps with top notch AF (from the flagship A9), good 4K video with SLOG and many other profiles, much improved ergonomics vs previous gen Sony’s IMO, highly customizable, etc. The only thing I’d do to make it better is fully articulate the screen and maybe move the grip a smidge to the right for more knuckle space with larger lenses.

It’s not perfect with adapted lenses (loses ability to track above continuous LOW ~3fps, some don’t adapt well), but with native glass it’s pretty darn good. Some have complained about low light AF (with all Sony mirrorless), but I’ve not found that to be an issue. That said, I haven’t used it for a dim wedding reception or anything like that... but I have used it to shoot night ball games where I’ve got 100% usable images at 10000 ISO and above.

I found mine in stock at B&H because they usually put some sort of timeframe on when to expect the next shipment. I checked a day earlier than what they stated and they had some in stock for a few hours (they sold out FAST). Here lately I’ve seen them in stock at Adorama and B&H with the kit lens, which actually is barely more than the body itself and gives you a taste of what native mount glass performs like. Adorama has had some in stock lately too, so it seems supply is maybe catching up a bit.

I've heard they are ramping up production. The camera is absolutely amazing. I got to handle one at a Sony meet&greet and it blew me away.

I got my hands on one at Worst Buy and I definitely wouldn't buy one.

- Native lens lineup is still smaller and are more expensive than Canikon
- Ergronomics are kludgy.
- EVF is sluggish. I shoot with two eyes open and I got a little motion sick moving around and seeing the Jello fest in the EVF

I've heard, but not tested or confirmed, that weather sealing still disappoints.

Sounds like:
- Battery life is much improved
- Video is awesome, full frame 4K!
- IBIS for the aforementioned video.

Gimmie an old (proven, trustworthy, reliable), poopy dynamic range Canon 5d Mark III for a wedding anyday.
