some of the posts above likely came from Greentoe itself.

So the people above are submitting experiences that never happened? and work for Green Toe?

Yeah, because no one ever had a good experience with GreenToe or is capable of having a different opinion than you...

If we're being completely honest here, you hold more responsibility than GreenToe in this particular situation. You placed an order for a hard to get item knowing you needed it for an upcoming trip. Yes, they promised to deliver - on time which they should not have in this situation. But, after a delay or two you still chose to use them. Your choice to wait it out. This went on for what... almost 2 months? So yeah, you have quite a bit of responsibility here Chief... If I needed something, especially for a trip, I would have actively perused an alternative means to acquiring it as a backup. You did not and now are spamming all the photography message boards you can about your bad experience.

Need it quick? Order it from Amazon* (if they have one in stock in this particular case)

* disclaimer: Before you say I do... I do NOT work for Amazon.

Great advice... It's easy to be a rock thrower than to accept responsibility for bad decision making:)

I assure you that I do not work for greentoe. I'm in construction in the oil and gas industry so not sure why anyone would think I work for them. I'd go broke working for anything else than what I'm doing. I'm not college educated and have no degree, just a high school diploma but I make very good money doing what I do and have no reason to promote for anyone else for their benefit at my expense.

I suggest this guy move on and accept the fact he's trying to get a good deal on super hot brand new release item and if he wants the gear he wants the just chalk up the damn money and buy it.

some people.

Sorry, no, they are all members in good standing here at POTN.

It's a bummer of course, but the fact is that the A7RIII with it's spectacular reviews, appears to be back ordered everywhere. Supply is just not meeting demand.

Although on a completely different scale, Greentoe is a bit like eBay in that you will have vendors that are amazing, that go above and beyond to satisfy the customer, and you will find a small percentage of vendors who's only concern is turning a buck, and thus are less up front where it counts.

I understand your pain, OP.

Yes, it is a high demand item, and it will take longer. With that said, Greentoe did make the promise according to the OP.

Those of you who have purchased new gears from me including high ticket, high demand items, you know that I follow up on a regular basis to keep you posted as to what is happening. Some of you know that I offer additional discount (on top of the great price), when my items are late. Some of you got the brand new Canon 85L F1.4 IS for around $1325-$1350. Some got the brand new 1Dx II for $4700.

My Greentoe experience has been awful - i can't get anything for 50% off :)

I have purchased a couple of items from them (70-200 2.8L and Canon IV) and had nothing but a good experience. Sometimes things happen, i had one bad experience with Adorama but the other 1/2 dozen have been great.

Best

I have bought two camera systems from Greentoe, first a Canon 7DMII and recently a Fujifilm TX-2 and several lenses. Everything went perfectly and as expected.
