Anyone shooting Indy today? If so, I'd love to see some photos of the #60 car! My cousin's an engineer on that team...

Thanks!

They made it as high as 2nd position with just three or four laps left, but my cousin said they were running on fumes and had to pit (as did the car in 1st position). I would've just thrown caution to the wind and stayed out on the track!

In a full speed race, they would have to have about 5 to 6 gallons of fuel to end the race. If they had something close to that, they would have likely tried to just finish without pitting. Otherwise it would be an exercise in futility.

Seems to me you should manipulate that fact to get you a media pass! If I knew anyone involved in a race team for any motorsport, believe I'd at least try and get a pass!

Well, I thought of that, of course, but it's my cousin's first season with this team, so I didn't really want to put him on the spot like that. Also, I'm St. Augustine, and I would've wanted to make travel arrangements a bit further in advance.

Next season, though... Oh, yes... Next season...

 :p

Fair enough. I didnt realize it was his first season.

A guy I work with, his son is on an engine rebuild team ranked 2nd in the nation (or state, not sure) for speed. I told him his son needs to get on a pit crew in the NHRA. I doubt he'll go that route. But if he does, best believe after a couple years I'm going to get a purple vest!

You know, you just never know.

My cousin went to school for race car engineering just outside Oxford, England. He signed on with a team over there, did the whole 24 Hours at LeMans thing, and was really happy. When I asked him if he would ever move back to the States, he commented "Probably not. I'm pretty sure my future is in Europe."

18 months later he's moving to Ohio...

That's unfortunate for him

LOL! Yeah, certainly wouldn't be my first choice, but he's got a pretty sweet gig...
