Wow, some great entries!
It's still so hot here that I'm not doing much of anything at the moment...

I have a friend who does abstract photography and is sooo good at it. From her I have learned to not guess what it is any more but to enjoy the colours, shapes, lines, textures, framing etc., in short take it for what it is and not wonder about the actual thing. Especially since it's usually something so ordinary and mundane that knowing what it is often takes away from the image itself, so it's best to leave the mystery intact. That's what I think anyway. Of course this is the WWPW thread and this is about interaction and having fun (it is for me anyway), so I also like Joayne's idea of revealing the subject at the end of the week. That could be fun indeed.

I don't recall volunteering to start one . . .

Last night, I looked over some of my recent shots and realized that there weren't many with the potential to be made unrecognizable like the blueberries or joeseph's not-a-lumberyard image, not with the elementary PP functions I have. I just like the idea of adding the guessing factor here if it gets enough subscribers.

Elsewhere at POTN, there's a thread for abstracts. Most of the entries aren't true abstracts. Some people seem to post there just because their image has artistic merit, apart from being a picture of ______.
