3 batteries stay in my 5D4 bag. It's a small price to pay for such a great camera.

What does this mean?

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Probably from film days

Go through the roll....looking at all the negatives

I will go through all the photos on the card often so I know I did not miss any shots that I wanted to capture at the wedding

I got ~800 motorsport shots out of my 5D4 battery before it was on the last bar (70-200 Sigma lens on OS-2 with lots of autofocus and stabilizing going on). I swapped it out at that point, but probably could have gotten another 50-100 shots out of it.

My wifi and GPS are off.

If those 800 shots were spread out over 3 or 4 days of shooting, and if you spent a couple of hours chimping through your images every night, then that doesn't sound bad for a battery. . But if those 800 shots were all taken in just 6 to 8 hours of shooting, and your battery was on its last bar, then that sounds really bad to me.

I will try turning off Wifi and GPS. Maybe that will help. But I chimp a lot. This is the worst battery perfoirmance I have had from a canon camera. Batteries are cheap. $68 for a new Canon. But still crap battery life compared to other bodies I have use...most of them since 20D...not impressed with battery life for the 5D4

The 800 shots were over 3 hours with about 40 mins of chimping during a break in racing for lunch.

EDIT: if i remember correctly the battery is rated for '900 shots'...when using the viewfinder.

800 in the latter case is good for the 5D4 I'm afraid.
