Jun 02, 2018 08:20 | #2 I do love buying from Adorama but I haven't gotten any luck with them trying to sell. I've sent in several online request to sell my equipment and never once got a response. The one time I called to sell a camera body they offered me 70% of what they said was market value. Name: Theron

Jun 02, 2018 09:30 | #4 I have sold to Adorama numerous times. No issues you will get more if you just do store credit (my experience anyway) but you will not get resale value. Or trade your gear in toward new gear.

I buy 99% of my stuff online anyway. And have purchased from them in the past. I want to die peacefully, in my sleep, like my grandfather.

Once an item has been received, it is checked over thoroughly by the technical team, and if it is an item that they believe has re-sale potential, a quote, based on UP TO 70% of the expected resale value will be offered. The 30% (+ or -) is to cover costs such as staffing, storage, building overheads - and, of course, Adorama is a business! A pre-paid label is provided for sellers to send their equipment in for valuation, fully insured - and if you decide not to sell to Adorama, your gear will be shipped back, fully insured, at no cost to you. As a reseller of used equipment, Adorama offers a 6-month warranty on most of the used equipment sold, including a 30-day returns period; allowances therefore need to be made for the costs associated with a certain number of items being returned, repaired or exchanged. Any value that may be suggested for purchasing used equipment prior to a thorough examination by our technicians, can only be an estimate based upon the seller's description. If you are unhappy with the figure suggested you are most welcome to ask for your equipment to be returned to you as quickly as possible. Finally, not all items can be accepted. If the warehouse has a number of identical units which are not moving fast, your trade will not be accepted - or you will be offered a lower figure than you might want. I hope this helps, but please don't hesitate to email me directly, if I can ever be of assistance. Sounds like you work there? I want to die peacefully, in my sleep, like my grandfather.

TeamSpeed 01010100 01010011 More info Post edited over 5 years ago by TeamSpeed. | A good rule of thumb is that you will get 40-50% less than selling it yourself. A business has to cover customer shipping and small warranty / return periods, and make a profit to cover the employee aspect. You will make more selling it on Amazon. Cormac wrote in post #18638108 Was curious how much less. It depends on how many they have in stock - if there is only one you could expect to be paid more than if they have 12!
