I have a 13000mah battery pack and usb cable. Not having to worry about juice or change of batteries is really nice.

I’ll post some. Nothing fancy just getting some shots of the kids.

What I don’t like is there IS a lag between shutter button to shutter actuation. Canon is no lag. Gotta predict and shoot high speed. So far shooting electronic shutter seems there is no banding.

Shooting jpg and just bounce between incandescent and fluorescent white balance. Canon I don’t touch it.

I’ll end up doing some 3000 photos today

FYI, 1K shots is normal for event, and even that is WAY too much than I want to deal with.

rate in camera -> compress to dng if you dont intend to print or only small prints -> import

I go a step further because I dont like clutter

protect in camera -> DELETE unprotected -> compress to dng if you dont intend to print or only small prints -> import

shot an event over the weekend that I knew would only go to web. That was my approach. I'm real good at deleting images

This was 3 2hr shows. I"ve already deleted 1k shots.... the redundant stuff type things. It'll end up being around 1200 images posted though. about 15 per number I would say on average.

Shooting an a9?

Oh nvm. Just saw r3.

Did you avoid the banding in silent mode by finding a shutter speed that avoided it or did you not notice it over a range of shutter speeds?

12 photos a minute

A photo every 5 seconds

There is no way I would ever make it through culling and editing that many pics.

Nope. Nope. Nope.

Is a lot of that due to the shutter delay?

Culling is easy. I took 938 photos down to 220 in about 30min.

Get it right in camera there is no editing.

Remember. It’s a mass photo and only objective is to capture clean shots for parents who don’t have the camera or know how. Straight from camera the moms go nuts.

Most you do is a crop and perhaps a slight exposure change.

These two won’t be good quality I just saved them off of Facebook since I’m not around my computer. Things can be off but nobody cares. For the shots YOU like you edit the poo out of them. I have my own keepers thst I like to edit different than the bulk.

Those look good. Did you use electronic shutter exclusively the whole performance?

I started out mechanical but quickly switched to electronic and so far haven’t faired much issues at all with banding and only a few situations where feet are a tad longer due to rolling shutter but it’s not really noticeable because of how the dancers are always positioned anyway.

it should be the other way around, assume the E shutter is good till it isnt ;-)a

my default shooting is silent, only turn on mechanical when there's issues, which is hardly ever. I'de be surprised if I had 1K in mechanical shutter actuations, I probably have at least 30K electronic actuations now.
