Just back from a road trip (Kansas City to Colorado to Utah to Arizona)

First up - Horseshoe Bend, Arizona. This was the furthest point on the road trip. Click to my flickr page to view it in larger detail. There are rafters to the left and a boat to the right showing some of the grand scale. There was also a tent on the bottom left of the bend where the rafters would have their starting point. The Colorado River is such an amazing waterway. We followed it through the Rockies to this point as we were traveling. I've got to go back and raft. Stay tuned for more images. Appreciate any comments or critiques.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful. You know me though, a real stickler for horizon lines. The picture looks tilted to the right.

Much better.We were at the South Rim in April up from Sedona for the day. I was torn about driving all the way up to Horseshoe Bend (another 2hrs). I've always wanted to go and now probably will never make it back. Great photo!

Page Arizona is a great place for a photographer. Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon both just a handful of miles apart. If you get another chance, do it!

We kept adding two hours from Moab. First it was Monument Valley. Then oh look Horseshoe Bend is only two hours away. We tried to last minute book Antelope Canyon but they had one spot left and my wife was with me so I had to pass it up.

I couldn't believe how close they were together. It is still on bucket list of things to visit. My oldest daughter really wants to come along for that so we will be going back. I really want to raft the Colorado River next as well.

No sir. Bucket List item. I have looked into it twice before even going as far as scheduling the trip but like all the Grand Canyon lodging, facilities and excursions the rafting is booked up far far in advance so we moved on to other things.

We have rafted the Merced River in Yosemite National Park and had the most amazing time. I don’t have any thought of doing the version where I need a helmet and the rocky situations but there are parts where it looks much easier. I have my eyes set on the Glenwood Canyon area in Colorado.
