I really wasn't that close to the edge. I would have had to take probably another 5 feet to the edge. You can still see the foreground of the cliff in my shots. I'm with you though as it does take a little nerve to get even this close.

You are right about that. Standing close to the edge would already be a no-go for me because of the hundreds of people milling around without caring about who they bump into, absorbed as they are by their one intention that is to take a selfie, happen what may. One way to limit the risk is to lie down when approaching the edge and still keep a safety margin of at least six feet. Propped on your elbows you can get good shot of the Horseshoe Bend. Some freakish wind gusts will possibly whirl loose sand around and mess up the camera when you are so near to the ground but you'll be safe.;-)a
