I've just built myself a vertical rig for studio macrophotography.

The height and angle make the viewfinder unusable, an the LCD screen is at an awkward angle.

Has anyone used an HDMI monitor for this, and if so, do you have a recommendation for an affordable monitor?

I'm already using a tablet to control my Wemacro rail.

I also have DSLR controller, which I used for focus stacking before I bought the Wemacro. It can let you use the tablet as a monitor, but I can't use it and the Wemacro control software at the same time.

I don't have a Windows laptop. My laptop runs 32bit Linux which doesn't support most camera control/monitoring software.

Thanks.

I ended up connecting a 24" HDMI computer monitor to my camera and that works great.
