I managed to photograph the Witch's Broom Nebula, unfortunately, due to my limited field of view through a skylight, I can only see this around an hour before dawn. Due to my slow abilities with star hopping, it took me a good 20 minutes to find it. This was done using the Astronomik CLS filter and a Canon EOS 1000D (modified). Also the tracking mount that I have is not suitable for astrophotography (EQ-3). I used 90 second exposures because I get inconsistent results at 2 minutes, with some decent and others have funny stars.

I have learnt how it is better to process the image when you have had a rest. I mucked up my previous attempt and lost a lot of data. I need to learn to be patient and wait to process it the next day.

Thanks for looking.

I have managed to get a bit more time, albeit this was done on Thursday night, so nautical dawn was at 2:25am. Unfortunately, even when it is clear in the daytime and the night, the clouds seem to spontaneously erupt when I am trying to photograph.

So, this is my second attempt, still with 90 second exposures, but this time I had 18 lights. The moon was thankfully lower by the time this appeared. I am happy with it.

I use an Astronomik CLS filter attached to a Skywatcher 150mm Newtonian (focal length 750mm) on an EQ-3 mount. Canon EOS 1000D (modified). I used DeepSkyStacker (new version) and IRIS.

Thanks for looking.
