I use it this way a lot. . If I try to use it for other things, like copying a part of the image and trying to paste it to another part of the image, it doesn't work very well. . I feel like it's more of a "heal" tool than a "clone" tool.

Tom, thanks for the illustration of cloning. I could ask dozens of questions toward learning PP better, but I don't want to hijack this thread and irritate innumerable people who take the trouble to open it only to find nothing that's really about the forum. The problem I posted about to begin with has been resolved.
