Nikon AF-P 70-300 f4.5-6.3 ED VR

Does anyone own one of these new lenses - how good are they, I have Just ordered one to go on my D5500.

I own the older 70-300 VR and it is fantastic! I've shot it on a D90, D610 and now the D750. It did/does wonderful work on all. Haven't had a chance to give it a serious run on my D500 yet. I also shoot the 70-200 2.8 VR II, so I don't throw the word "fantastic" around lightly. The 70-300 holds it own. If the new version is in fact better, you are in for a treat!

I also used to have the old 70-300VR it was good but as reprted by everyone slightly soft at the long end over 200mm, this to me was quite noticable due to me doing heavy cropping and pixel peeping.

The new lens is supposed to be in a different ball park for IQ and VR ability, including the 300mm range.
