Back in May, I decided to head to Chicago to do some night photography as I was getting bored of capturing the same old stuff in Toronto. Armed with my new Sony a7r III I hit the nights of Chicago, for what I think are some incredible night views from the two observation decks in the Willis Tower and in Chicago 360. I also decided to whip up together a brand new online portfolio for my night photography (https://legionxstudios.format.com/ (external link)) using a builder called Format (external link), as its always such a pain to update my Wordpress site, and this has saved me so much more time for managing my website.

All are good. First is my favorite - maybe just needs a little squaring up on those verticals.

Amazing shots! I agree that the first was the best. I’m always visiting Chicago when it’s ALWAYS cloudy, and getting in a shot like that becomes impossible.

Very nice set of Chicago images.

About your linked gallery page...Great look at the splash page, but when any photo is clicked on, the site freaks out in my version of Chrome, so not viewable in that browser.

The first image works best for me. It is actually very good. It dramatically shows the spread od the city and its vertical height and combines this with the pleasant and fascinating night skyline view.

The second image still shows the spread but the sense of vertical height is gone.

Third and fourth image suffer from too much sky where not so much is going on. You got nice reflection for the city lights in the clouds on the third image but I would still recomend to show a little more of the city and a little less of the sky.

This is not meant to be critical about your images - you just raised the bar with the first image so much. :-)

I remember I took this picture at the end of June of 2018. It's about 6 am in Chicago. Very quiet and empty on the streets.

Like the second one. It immediately spoke to the energy of the city to me.

Night views can never fail us, can they? Look at how breathtaking the lighting from the streets looks from above. It almost looks like the whole city is on fire but still manages to look captivating.
