that's a beautiful bird- are they hard to approach there? our kestrals are quite challenging to get close to

Thanks CaptBob. They are a bit skittish - fortunately this one was scared by walkers down in the gorge and landed in a tree close to me. My usual approach, when they turn their head to look at something else, I take a step or two closer, then just repeat until I'm close enough......and of course, keep snapping each time.
