I’m running in to some issues with this combo. The flash seems to fire intermittently. It will work fine when I first turn it on and then won’t fire for a moment (5-10+ seconds or not at all until I restart it). It seems to happen every time I fire a shot and then hit playback or delete. If I don’t do that I seem to be able to shoot without problems, but as soon as I hit playback or change some other settings the flash will be unresponsive. I’m assuming it has something to do with the 5D4 firmware. I should note that I also tried this with my 6D1 and could fire continuously with no problems no matter what I did or changed with the camera/settings. Just wondering if anyone else has any experience with this and if there are any solutions. Thanks in advance.

Update:

I have also found that in High Speed and Low Speed continuous if this problem occurs it is only for the first shutter and then the flash continues to work after that. In single shot the problem persists for every shutter until I mess around and change some settings back and forth.

Also, I have found that this problem doesn’t occur at all if I am at ISO 160 or 320, but everything above, below and between will have the problem.

I stumbled on this post. Just my luck. I ordered a YN-24EX an hour ago and I have the 5D4 too . I guess I'm in for some fun -?. I suppose if it messes me up too much, I can fall back to my 5D3.

I got my YN-24EX last Wednesday and haven't had any problems with it and my 5D4 after shooting a few hundred shots spread out over a few days :-).
