Jun 18, 2018 23:00 | #3 I did not realize that they were replacing the V1 anchors as well. I was still using V1 anchors on all my straps/cameras and I still had some brand new never used V1 anchors laying around as well. Guess its time to replace them with all the V2 anchors I have (again brand new) and wait for the new V4 anchors.

I wouldn't really call it a recall but more of as a advisory. V4 is a marriage of v2's thicker cord and v3's new puck design. So if you have v1, v2 and even v3, you can still use them. You just need to be vigilant to replace them if you see the color coding cord.

I can’t remember what they changed it to but I remember them talking about that change in material when they released the V2 Anchor links. EDIT: Found it. They went from Kevlar on the V1 to Dyneema on the V2. Like I said, I’ve been using the V1 anchors for years so I was suprised that they are replacing those along with the V3 (the survey asks how many V1 and V3 anchor links you have). In fact in the video they say if you’re using V1 then to stop using them and that they are replacing them. If a manufacturer is telling me to not use their product then I’ll listen to them......but I did have plenty of V2 anchor links sitting around to replace all my V1’s. Once I get the V4’s they will go into storage until I run out of V2’s (which should be quite a while) Just another reason to love PD. Thats one thing I like about PD. They are transparent unlike other companies. Even if there is nothing majorly wrong but isn't up to their standards, they'll replace them. Canon :: R5 | R6 | RP
