In the highlands of Scotland, under trees it is dark even in summer. So once again a high ISO needed.
I have gone away from the 1:1 ration and trying 1:4 and then cropped.
So quite a bit of post processing to get rid of noise …. maybe a bit too much sharpening. What say you ?
Love the light and the low angles!
Not sure what image editor you use, but Topaz Labs recently came out with Denoise AI and it's really good at removing image noise and preserving detail. You can download a trial version and check it out before you buy it.
Last, but not least, if I were you I'd get out of the habit of cropping. I know of at least one macro shooter who's images got popular but they were pretty heavily cropped. Got his 15 minutes of fame after getting published in a popular photography magazine, but his photos looked about as pixelated as genitalia in a Japaneses porno cause they were cropped. To this day I don't understand how his photos made it past the editors of the magazine, and I think he set macro back more than a decade cause no one has been published the way he was even though there are better images out there than the ones that he was known for.
