Lady Beetle and a Four-toothed Mason Wasp. The wasp is stinging a caterpillar that is inside the folded up leaf. I got a picture of the wasp with its prize, but sadly, not very clear.

Interesting about the wasp. They are such beautiful, graceful insects, but do really gross things to prey. That's nature, though.

There are fewer and fewer bugs each year, kind of worrying.

Mayflies are interesting subjects. Nicely captured, especially the eyeball closeup.

Thank You.

But we can all help, plant your garden full with (native) insect friendly plants, it will attract the bugs. All my macro shots are taken in my own garden, just a relative small plot at the edge of a small town. Even a few pots can make a difference, on the roof terrace at work we have planted 6 tubs with sunflowers and Liatris and looking outside now it's bustling with bees, bumble-bees and hover-flies, sometimes butterflies and even damselflies.

Yes, agreed, but there is concern about bug numbers declining in wild areas.

It's not just hoverflies that are abundant this year

Good shot! Is it in flight? Or just dangling on two legs?

Thanks. It was just landing on the flower, then it was quickly inside. Usual challenge to focus!
