Wheel Bug - These guys are supposed to hurt pretty bad if they bite you.. if you look at the harpoon they get you with you can understand why, wow.

Not entirely sure what is hiding under this crusty camouflage. Anyone got an idea as to what sort of creature this is? As an aid, photographed in Edinburgh.

Sorry, don't know. There are some hemiptera (true bugs) that cover themselves with stuff for camouflage, but don't know if this would be one of them. Check out Masked Hunter Bugs.

Thanks, yeah I stood there for a while waiting for it to move In a way to capture both. Wind made it thought but got lucky.

Monster on my gutter. Not macro, I had to use the zoom on my P-610. According to EXIF, the 179mm on the camera is equivalent to 1000mm on a 35mm frame.

Was pointed in the direction of the green lacewing larval stage and from what I’ve found this could be right.
