Monster on my gutter. Not macro, I had to use the zoom on my P-610. According to EXIF, the 179mm on the camera is equivalent to 1000mm on a 35mm frame.

I’m just glad they don’t grow to Doberman size!

After many years of frustration, I've finally gotten a decent photo of a Green Lacewing. First one is true 1:1, and I was using my Pringles can snoot. Second one is with the flip up on camera flash, and very heavily cropped for eye detail. Seems like all members of the Neuroptera Order have really interesting eye pattern reflections, more so than other insect orders. At least the ones I've photographed.

I also have problems with lacewings! It must be their low contrast in most situations. You captured it well. I did not know about the eye. Gotta check that out next time.

Nice! You got some of the iridescence in the wings as well! Green lacewings are something I see on decent occasion, but they are usually very small ones so getting a lot of the eye detail isn't too easy. I've been lucky with adult antlions however, and their eyes are something from another world.

Millipede? No idea really.
it was under a rock I had in the garden along with about a dozen others, but the rest skedaddled and left this and junior.
12 and 6 mm long approx
They didn't want to stay still
