A couple of 48 million year old insects preserved in Baltic amber. The first two images show a small midge (Chironomidae?) approximately 3 mm in body length, and the last one is a small fly (Tachydromiinae?). These images are focus stacks taken with my Laowa 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5x ultramacro lens operating at 5x.

Thanks very much! I picked this piece up in Poland 22 years ago (when they were relatively cheap). But all of the countries surrounding the Baltic Sea have it.
