Sharp image. Do you use extensions tube(s) with that 100mm.

Yep, pretty well always use a 20mm Kenko. Without it I was always bumping into the focus limit at 1:1. With the tube I get to around 1.3x and that makes a big difference. AF can be a bit balky with the tube. It is quite a bit worse with greater extension. So I keep it to 20mm.

Great shot with plenty of DOF. Love the texture of the leaf (?) the fly is standing on.

Are these flies called Flesh flies? I think we have similar flies and I googled them and they look like Flesh flies.

Never thought I’d be saying that. :)

Really nice shot.

I don't know the ID of this fly. It does resemble a flesh fly. (Googled it.)

OK fly experts ID this one, about 1/3 the size of a typical housefly (at least in my area)

I thought after I posted some might be interested in the lighting set up. For field work it is lightweight/wieldable

It works good on the Laowa 65mm since it is small and short.

Wow, love they golden eyes.

No idea about the species. :-(

Couple of photos from my hedge inhabitants before work this morning.
Still got the Gary Phong diffuser on - not sure if it better than the standard rectangle white diffuser that comes with the Speedlite.
Looking forward to getting a twin flash head again.

Well I’m no expert on anything, but likely one of the Long-legged flies. (Dolichopodidae)
And a very nice capture !

Nice setup that seems to work well for you.

Great photo. Can you tell me where you got that bracket, or is it a DYI? Just ordered a twin flash that is wireless, & this bracket looks interesting.
