Nicely spotted!

It's technically very good as well as being graphically effective, and at the same time a bit funny. :-)

Very big thank you!

And I imagine I would have amused anyone that had seen me trying to get that shot ! :)

Yes - once you dial in the optimum settings and provided the insects doesn't move, or a gust of wind doesn't blow the insect out of the frame, or other insects don't crawl around in the BG, the results are quite astonishing.:-)

Cheers

Dennis

Just spectacular, amazing, and beautiful.

Never tried and doubt I have what it takes to do it. But I’m a huge fan of wonderful photos like this by people like you that can. Wow.

Interesting. First one I've photographed, I think.

Lots of mantises around my area lately, and I'm not complaining! This was a small 1-2 inch green mantis

This was a very light, almost white, small mantis that was just about 2 inches long. I've never seen on of this color in my area before, and it blended in with these white/light-oink flowers extremely well

And this was a small tan mantis giving me a rather funny look as it was enjoying a small red and black seed beetle

Wonderful set of mantis pics. They might be my favorite bug, but I haven't seen one in many years. So it is good that you have lots. Those are cool pics of it eating the bug, which looks a bit like a boxelder bug.

Wow. Absolutely outstanding. We get Mantes here but never white ones, and I've never seen one eating anything but leaves. Thanks for these!

Many thanks!
I guess it’s the fact that one doesn’t normally see an ants shadow. At least that’s what had me scrambling to get the shot. :)
