Mirid bugs are common wherever there is an abundant food source. Some mirid species prey exclusively on soft-bodied invertebrates, while others also feed on plant sap if they have depleted prey numbers, causing distorted leaf growth and leaving puncture marks in fruits. (Source) (external link)

These were on a bedding plant close to the apple tree - the tree is where I usually find the miridae, so not really sure why this one was down there...

I can't say whether this one is carnivorous or not, but it seemed interested in an aphid.

I think I'm staying away from canon macro gear, hate to say it. My 100mm broke again in less than a year (actual usage time was 3-4 months), & warranty was only 6 mos. What makes it even more frustrating is it's the focusing ribbon that "breaks" & I rarely have it in AF???!!!?? It might be somewhat tolerable if operation in manual focus was still a viable option, but it just throws an error code. If I remember correctly (?) someone here was having some type of repeating issues with the MP65 1x-5x lens. Add this to some of the posts I have been reading here about Canon quoting crazy cleaning/repairing prices.

The Laowa lenses have been getting wonderful reviews, some claiming sharper than the Canon 100mm??? I'm in manual focus 99% now so not much adjustment. I've checked the specs, my 2x rig currently (100mm + full set tubes) is a full 2.5 inches longer than the Laowa 100mm 2x. Can't focus to infinity either with the tubes attached, although I haven't had that need yet while shooting macro.

Sorry Archibald, this wasn't directed at your post it was just me venting on Canon.

Normally would not post due to lack of detail. VERY tiny & huge crop. These guys are a fraction of the size of the weevil in the little daisy I posted earlier. Thought I'd share anyway.
