Don't know what it is but I've seen something similar. Can't tell by this photo but the one I saw had the tiniest little part where the thorax attaches to the abdomen. It looks so small & fragile, was waiting for the abdomen to just fall off!

It is a kind of ichneumon wasp, and a very nice photo of it.

Ichneumon wasps like most wasps parasitize other bugs like caterpillars. Very interesting if a bit gruesome.

At nearly an inch long, this Tenebrio molitor beetle is one of the good ones to have in your garden. The larvae are the familiar mealworms that are fed to birds.

Thanks Richard. The diffused lighting is from my 3D printed diffusers I got from someone here in the UK.

On the Canon twin flash? It works well. (I go by Ed usually :-) )

They can be had for Canon - though mine are on the equivalent Yongnuo YN24EX flash heads.

The flash was set to 1/128th power.

My garden was overrun with these bad boys this evening. They are fascinating to watch with the macro lens

Nice but slimy critters. Not sure they are bugs. These pics would look great in the Slugs forum. https://photography-on-the.net …read.php?t=1498048&page=1

Lol, no problem. They are somewhat bug-like. It is interesting to get a "guest" here from time to time.
