I don't think I've ever seen a sharpshooter before, but leafhoppers behave similarly. Maybe you could paint eyes on your fingers to help with getting them to come back. Yes, they don't hang around! This was taken on a kitchen surface so I could get down level and track it's run in parallel (with a little careful re-directing!) as it moved towards a diffused flash. Blackeyed Pete, 6D and counting
