chrysanthemum lace bug

I don't think I've seen one before (that I knew). They are extremely small, in fact I wasn't sure it was anything at all till I zoomed in.

Late reply. That little plant hopper is of interest. If you photograph from the side you will see false eye spots on the wings, so it looks like the head is on the opposite end. Its a common trick that many insects use to confuse predators.

Thanks for the comment, Mark. I will watch for that if I see a bug like this again. I usually try for side shots, but this one was deep in the concave shaft of that weed.

Clouded Plant Bug - probably Neurocolpus nubilus. A "true bug", meaning in the Order Hemiptera. They like daisies and have bushy antennas.
